bling bling zara home

In these dark, recessionary days, people are surely not eating out.  They must be staying at home to throw dinner parties for their friends.   For my stay at home dinner party, I would offer the following menu:

1) pea and chilli soup (this is made from an onion, some vegetable stock, a bag of frozen peas and one chopped up chilli and a spoonful of creme fraiche. it is devine)

2) shepards pie.  shepard’s pie is made with lamb.  either cut up some lamb into very small pieces or use lamb mince.

3) trifle. jelly. birds custard if i was feeling particularly cheap, although, even I could stretch to Lidl or Aldi eggs and milk.  Whipped brandy cream. Brandy soaked sponge. (Make your sponge yourself), it is cheaper. a bit of brandy or rum.  cheap. cheerful.

The menu isn’t important however, because for my cheap and cheerful food, i would require a faux bling table.  This, is where zara home is excelling this year. zarahome, delivers free in ireland. super!

bling bling cutlery.

bling gorgio wine glass.

bling gorgio water tumbler

i’m surprised that i find myself thinking, oh, gold, soooooooooooo tacky. great to beat the recissionary blues.  all this stuff actually inspires me to throw my pea soup,  shepards pie, sherry trifle dessert dinner party.
