The Irish Times has a piece about the Irish Blog Awards in today’s newspaper, and the winner of the best newcomer blog went to Tommy Collison.
Collison, eh? That wouldn’t be the younger brother of Patrick and John Collison, who really need no introduction, Patrick a previous winner of the Young Scientist exhibition who recently sold his company Auctomatic, his brother John being a co-founder.
Computery magic runs in this family. My money says Tommy is the younger of the elder two. The family resemblence speaks for itself. Strange that the IT did not pick up on the connection, or perhaps they deliberately ignored it. In any case, well done to Tommy.
The UI in WP 2.5 is a bit of a shock to the system. It is so buttony and shiny. i had been used to things as they were. it is so full of stuff! Six months of work. Well done to the WordPress Team. I’ve lots of new buttons to learn about. Like the “Show/Hide Kitchen Sink” button. Want to know what that is? Well, you’ll just have to upgrade your own wordpress. I’m not convinced I like the colours and fonts in the UI but I am sure I will get used to them. Change and improvements are always good.
